On the coldest weekend of the year Darkside took to their second home ground to play championship challengers Weston green. Darkside made a couple of changes to the week before with Errol starting off in goal and French Dan at left back.

Match official Neil got the game underway and Darkside made a good start, winning every 50 50 ball and challenge. The good start brought few opportunities on the Weston goal with Andy having the only opportunity for a clear strike. Andy sold a dummy to the defender on the edge of the box only for the ball to hit his standing leg before he struck his shot.

Darksides good start faded away after 10 minutes with Weston Green bombarding the Darkside goal. Darkside were finding it hard to clear their lines with last gasp challenges and saves from Stu and Errol. Eventually the pressure told and Weston opened the scoring with a sloppy goal. The half went from bad to worse for Darkside and Weston Green doubled their advantage within 5 minutes with a clear run and finish on goal. By the half time whistle Darkside found themselves 3 - 0 down and heads had begun to drop. Half time saw changes with Alan taking ErrolÕs place in goal and Eammon coming off for John who went up front.

The second half opened up the same as the first with some slick passing moves involving Andy, Craig and John. The early pressure though only produced a couple of half chances and no real threat to WestonÕs goal.

Eventually Weston Green took hold of the game again forcing some fine saves from Alan. Darkside could not contend with the amount of people Weston were forcing forward and went on to concede 3 more goals.

The game finished with shots raining down on the Darkside goal and little possession for the home team, the only saving grace would be a win against Geen King this weekend.
